Mississippi Department of Transportation

Video Production

A government agency with a sense of humor? Let's go!

During my agency years at Mabus Agency, MDOT came to us wanting a video series promoting road safety in construction work zones. Worker safety is no laughing matter — but that doesn't mean the message has to be heavy-handed to land. Our concept for this spot: treat an MDOT worker like a superhero suiting up for battle.

Low angles, dramatic lighting, epic music. His chest plate? A hi-vis vest. His helmet? A hard hat. His sword? A flashing "SLOW" sign. Behind him, MDOT vehicles with lights blazing. Then, at peak drama — hands on hips, stoic stare into the distance — the music cuts, a confused coworker walks in, and the spot lands its punchline before the two head off together to do the real hero work: making Mississippi's roads safe.

I worked this project from concept through delivery — creative development, client communications with MDOT, grip work, shooting, and the edit.
