St. Mary, Star of the Sea is a Catholic Parish on the beautiful island of Longboat Key, FL. After Hurricane Helene came through, they experienced damage to their facility due to the winds and flooding. Luckily, the building survived, but they knew it was time to invest in some long-needed hurricane safety measures. It was also the perfect time to make some cosmetic updates to a sanctuary that hadn’t had a touch up in many decades. To accomplish these goals, the parish leadership launched a capital campaign to raise the funds needed to restore the building and protect it from future storms.
A successful capital campaign doesn’t just happen. You need a clear goal, a clear plan to get there, and you have to be able to communicate that clearly to your parish if you want buy-in.
We were there to help with the clear communication part of the campaign. We started by having conversations to get a better understanding of the project goals, the demographics of the parish, and the ideas of from the leaders. Then, we got to work developing a brand mark, a color palette, patterns and textures, typeface, and a full list of deliverables. Concept development, print pieces, video work… this project had it all.
